  75. AMORTZ for DOS is a VERY easy to use financial loan calculation system.
  76. It was designed to be useful and understandable to everyone, from
  77. teenagers trying to swing a loan for that first car to CPA's working on
  78. million dollar deals.
  79.  
  80. AMORTZ will easily and quickly calculate any of the loan variables
  81. (Principal, Interest Rate, Payment Amount, or Number of Payments). It can
  82. then generate an amortization schedule (or "Payback" schedule) showing
  83. the principal and interest portion of each payment by due-date. The
  84. schedule is summarized by year and can be viewed on the monitor (with the
  85. ability to scroll forward or backward by year) AND/OR a hard-copy report
  86. can be printed (which can be used as a handy payment log). The schedule
  87. can also be saved to an ASCII file on disk.
  88.  
  89. AMORTZ supports variable interest, accelerated payments, balloon
  90. payments, five types of payment plans, and can reflect ANY change to ANY
  91. payment through the life of the loan. This version includes the ability
  92. to save and later re-load data. Headings on printed reports are fully
  93. customizable by you (include your company name or the name of a client!);
  94. printed report layout and totals are also customizable. If needed,
  95. annual totals can be presented by Fiscal Year (also selected by you).

  97. AMORTZ can also easily be used for "What If" calculations because it can
  98. instantly calculate loan totals to show how much cash will be required
  99. over the life of the loan. Just add $50.00 to your mortgage payment (for
  100. example) to see how many thousands of dollars can be saved over the life
  101. of the loan (not to mention paying the loan off YEARS earlier).

  103. The entire package is menu driven and includes extensive error-checking,
  104. making it very "user friendly". AMORTZ runs on all IBM compatible systems
  105. and does not require color or special graphics. The program is very
  106. compact and can easily be run from either a hard or "floppy" disk. (Hard
  107. drive is recommended).

  133. The installation procedure for AMORTZ is quite simple. The package
  134. includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the entire process.
  135. You will need about 600,000 bytes of available disk space on the hard
  136. drive on which you plan to install AMORTZ.
  137.  
  138. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received AMORTZ.
  139.  
  140. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  141.  
  142. To install from a diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
  143.  
  144.    o  Place the AMORTZ distribution diskette in the appropriate
  145.       diskette drive.
  146.  
  147.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  148.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  149.       the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  150.  
  151.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  152.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  153.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive. The
  154.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  155.       the AMORTZ files to that directory. It will make no other changes;
  156.       specifically, it will not modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys
  157.       files.

  160. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  162. If you downloaded AMORTZ from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  163. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  164. following steps.

  166.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file in a temporary
  167.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  168.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  169.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  170.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  171.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  172.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  173.       the package.
